The etymologies for the three alleged descendants are all over the place. 1. Latin malus is mostly connected to *mol-o-s, from *mel-,[R 1] 2. Proto-Slavic *malъ from *mh₁-ló-s from *meh₁-,[R 2] and 3. Proto-Germanic *smalaz to *smol(H)-o-s, from *smel(H)-.[R 3] Given the uncertainty, I think this entry should be deleted and the theories left to their respective etymology sections. --
