Spartacist (plural Spartacists)

  1. (historical) A supporter of Spartacus, who led a slave rebellion against the ancient Roman Empire.
  2. (historical) A member of the Spartacus League, a left-wing Marxist revolutionary movement in Germany during and just after World War I.
    Synonym: Spartacide
  3. A member of the modern Spartacist League, or International Communist League, a Trotskyist international organisation.
