Translingual[edit]

Symbol[edit]

TMP

  1. (international standards, obsolete) Former ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code for East Timor from 1975 to 2002.
    Synonyms: TP (alpha-2 1975–2002), TLS (2002–present, as Timor-Leste)
  2. (international standards, obsolete) Former ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code for Portuguese Timor from 1974 to 1975.
    Synonym: TP (alpha-2)

Usage notes[edit]

The code was deprecated in favour of TLS following the restoration of independence from Indonesia and the reestablishment of the country as Timor-Leste. However, it remained in use before that point, as the 1976 Indonesian annexation was never legally recognised by the United Nations.
