@Per utramque cavernam, Wikitiki89: I don't have a strong opinion on this but it's probably both. It seems attestable in modern literature about more modern events and not necessarily restricted to modern Ukraine or Belarus (unlike Ukr. шинк (šynk), шино́к (šynók), Bel. шыно́к (šynók), шынк (šynk)) but about Russia and other Slavic countries, e.g. Bulgaria. каба́к (kabák) has been definitely more common in Russia proper. корчма has a bit foreign (other Slavic) or old ring.
