@Atitarev, Cinemantique, Wikitiki89 The old manual pronunciation was IPA(key): /ˈsjeʑːɪjə/; the new one when I use a phonetic spelling with ӂӂ ends up as [sjeʑːəjə]. Is the old one correct? If so this is a bug in the pronunciation module and we should add a test case. Benwing2 (talk) 08:28, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Russians don't use letter "ӂ", so "phon" shouldn't be used in such cases. The new one is correct, the default reading is also correct. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 08:43, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2 I'm sorry, your original assumption was correct! [ʑː] is a marginal sound in Russian but [ˈsjeʑːɪjə] would be more appropriate pronunciation if [ʑː] is used. Yes, we need a new test case. BTW, me and Cinemantique will add some new cases for the pronunication of final "е", which is not so straightforward. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 09:27, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
[ˈsjeʑːɪjə] is correct for speakers who use the soft ж sound. It should be treated just like щ and ч. As for final -е, the pronunciation is unpredictable without grammatical knowledge, therefore there should always be a way to override it. --WikiTiki89 14:21, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes for the first point, that's what I also meant. ("приезжая" is another example, a more common word in the same boat). As for the final -е, we can add some consistent rules where possible and use overrides when it's not possible to determine without the grammar knowledge. --Anatoli T.
