The reconstruction *h₂rk- is too restrictive. Should rather be *h₂(e)rk-. For *h₂e- > ա-, cf. *h₂eg’-e- > ածեմ. Fortecis (talk) 10:19, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Fortecis: according to the Leiden school, PIE *h₂e- > Armenian ha-: compare հայց (haycʻ), հան (han), հանեմ (hanem), հատ (hat), հարաւունք (harawunkʻ), հաւ (haw). So they have to assume *h₂rk- for արգել (argel) and *h₂ǵ- for ածեմ (acem). Because this is not universally accepted, we can use the neutral notation *h₂(e)rk-. --Vahag (talk) 11:28, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Vahag:The Leiden school has a strong hypothesis about *h2e- but some counter-arguments remain including the variation of the type հոգի, ոգի. I am glad that we agree that *h₂(e)rk- is neutral while including the Leiden solution.
