This is an Arabic term. --Alfred Klose (talk) 04:43, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Descendants[edit]

The list of descendants duplicates that of Arabic ميدان. Better to determine the primary origin and list the descendants there. --Vahag (talk) 12:40, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Ah yes, true. I haven't seen the Arabic list. I'm not sure, which came first for which language, though. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 13:28, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
Me too. I don't have modern sources on Arabic and Persian etymology. --Vahag (talk) 14:03, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

The etymological information on these two pages still seems to be inconsistent. Kaixinguo~enwiktionary (talk) 15:17, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

I have cleared up the inconsistency. --Vahag (talk) 20:58, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. I notice though that it was User:ZxxZxxZ who added the etymology from Middle Persian [1]. He seems to be away at the moment, perhaps he will comment when he returns. Kaixinguo~enwiktionary (talk) 11:29, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
