Re diff: I'm completely out of my depth here, but don't you think it's useful to have a synchronic explanation of the word, and to have it categorised in CAT:Hindi words suffixed with -इक? I'm always doing it for French words when they're transparent, and when it really looks like the derivation happens in French. An example (other people prefer "surface analysis: xxx + xxx"). --Barytonesis (talk) 15:30, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

@Barytonesis: Well, Hindi does not retain Sanskrit's ablaut system (that's why the a of शब्द (śabda) is lengthened in शाब्दिक (śābdika)). Modern Hindi coinages using -इक (-ik) don't do that.
