(Notifying Stephen G. Brown, Wyang, Octahedron80): : Hello. Does it also mean "battery". Ref: Tuttle Practical Cambodian dictionary (romanised as "t'mor"). --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 12:06, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think not. Khmer does not have native word to describe battery; it must borrow from somewhere. And I do not see any language seem close to the word. --Octahedron80 (talk) 12:39, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hey, I found in ថ្មពិល that is really a compound word, but it does not make ថ្ម become same meaning of ពិល. --Octahedron80 (talk) 12:56, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I think ថ្ម (thmɑɑ) can be used colloquially as an abbreviated form of battery. ថ្មពិល (thmɑpɨl) means flashlight battery, dry cell battery (ពិល (pɨl) from French pile). That is, ថ្មពិល (thmɑpɨl) is literally a "pile stone", so colloquially a battery could be called a "stone" for short. —Stephen (Talk) 19:22, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
