(Notifying Stephen G. Brown, Wyang, Octahedron80): : Hi. Sealang romanises it as "prey". Should it be "prɨy" or "pray" or something else? --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 05:01, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Atitarev The current /prɨj/ is correct. It is the same as the /prey/ in Sealang. Wyang (talk) 06:56, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Atitarev, I think we are using different phonetic symbols now, so I don't know the answer to your question. To me, it should be /prey/. ព្រៃ (prɨy) sounds almost the same as English pray. It rhymes with រៃ (rey), គៃ (kɨy), ជែ (cɛɛ), ទៃ (tɨy), នៃ (nɨy), ពៃ (pɨy), យៃ (yɨy), លៃ (lɨy), វៃ (vɨy) —Stephen (Talk) 07:31, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
(Notifying Stephen G. Brown, Wyang, Octahedron80): : Thanks, Stephen. According to Khmer_alphabet#Dependent_vowels, vowel () is pronounced (IPA) as [aj] (a-series) or [ɨj] (o-series). The UN transcription is "ai" and "ey", which WT:KM TR also show. It make sense now. Thanks, Frank. We just learn to map transliterations accordingly. Sealang seems to use a mixture of IPA and the UN romanisations. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 02:01, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
