@Atitarev I'm not sure about this, Anatoli. There is an audio at Tovnah, but it is too unclear. I'd imagine that both pronunciations would exist. (Btw, I think we should distinguish /oo/ and /ou/ spelt with អូ/ូ, by respelling those with /oo/ in their ោ forms.) Wyang (talk) 00:46, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

@Wyang: Do you mean something like អ៊ោតូប៊ុស (ʼootoubuh)? I am not sure when to choose "oo" and "ou", if Sealang just had "oo".

@Atitarev Sorry, please ignore the /oo/ and /ou/ part. I think I was mistaken. The module doesn't allow a final -s... well until we can find audios that can show otherwise. :) Wyang (talk) 01:48, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

I finally got around to asking a native Khmer about this. He says that អូតូប៊ុស (ʼoutoubuh) is pronounced [ɔɔ.tou.ɓʌɦ]. —Stephen ^(Talk) 01:24, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

@Stephen G. Brown, Wyang: Thank you, Stephen. Is ុ (ុ) ever pronounced as /a/? I can't find /ʌ/ in Khmer phonology. The spelling for this pronunciation must be something like អូតូប័ស (ʼoutoubah). As for the first and the 2nd syllable, I'm still not 100% sure if we need to respell Sealang's "oo" as "ou" and when but sometimes the automatic transliteration produces "ou", as in this case. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 02:26, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

No, not /a/. There's no /ʌ/, but people often confuse /ʌ/ with /ə/ or /ɨ/, among others. I assume he meant [ŭ] or [u] (although I can't be sure, because I don't understand the phonetic system that we're using for Khmer). —Stephen ^(Talk) 03:07, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
