In 2015 the parliament of Japan enacted a bill to change the official Japanese name for the country of Georgia from “Gurujia” to “Jojia”, based on the English pronunciation of it. They only mention the pronunciation not the spelling. So, where should this information go? Spelling goes with the pronunciation. ジョージア is pronounced "Jōjia", グルジア is "Gurujia". The information can go into these entries. Despite the decision, the traditional spelling is obviously attested and is in common use, same as Korean equivalents 조지아 and 그루지야 where the English borrowing was chosen over the Russian. --Anatoli T.
