centralizing spelling-specific information
[edit]@Suzukaze-c: Probably. The etymology of the kanji spelling is part of the history of the word itself. By the way I wonder if I should have centralized {{ja-kanjitab}}
s since the beginning (that is, put {{ja-kanjitab}}
s into {{ja-spellings}}
, like the original design.) Alone, {{ja-spellings}}
can mark 表外字 with ▼. If we integrade {{ja-kanjitab}}
information, it will be able to mark 表外音訓 with ▽) and jukujikun (〈…〉) as well. And ateji if {{ja-kanjitab}}
supports marking ateji. I didn't do this because the design of {{ja-kanjitab}}
is too frustrating. For example, in the current design, the reading of 再 in 再び is ふたた, so that a casual user will be able to simply "glue" the reading and the okurigana to get the original word. Yet the reading of 組 in 組合せ is categorized as く. By the same reasoning, won't the casual reader mistake the original word as *くあわせ? Also, the fact that the reading of 再 in 再び is ふたた suggests that 形態素意識が薄い, yet the fact that the reading of the kanji in 発表 are はつ and ひょう suggests otherwise. Finally, a casual user who is misled into thinking that the reading of 再 is ふたた will have problem reading texts where 再 is spelled with no furigana (https://furigana.info/w/再:ふたたび). Therefore I saw {{ja-kanjitab}}
as a failed design, and didn't bother centralizing them (i.e. putting them into {{ja-spellings}}
). --Dine2016 (talk) 02:42, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
