@suzukaze-c Hi. The official pinyin spelling is sānmín zhǔyì (with a space) per Xiandai Hanyu Cidian. On the other hand, I agree that many Chinese people would recognize 三民主義 as a single word and prefer to write sānmínzhǔyì. (I wonder whether 無政府工團主義 should be wúzhèngfǔ gōngtuánzhǔyì or wúzhèngfǔ-gōngtuán zhǔyì, the latter by analogy with 馬克思列寧主義 Mǎkèsī-Lièníng zhǔyì in Xianhan).

Do we need to set forth our spelling principles (in addition to dropping metric hyphens in four-syllable chengyu) explicitly? While adding quotations from the Selected Works of Mao Zedong with {{zh-x}}, I've been inconsistent in the transcription of 土豪劣紳, sometimes following intuition to have tǔháolièshēn and sometimes following official standards to have tǔháo lièshēn. Setting forth explicitly-stated spelling principles on the wiki could reduce inconsistencies in the future, both in {{zh-pron}} and in {{zh-x}}. --Dine2016 (talk) 16:14, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

User talk:Geographyinitiative#主義 was a recent discussion about zhuyi. I don't have much too add, nor do I terribly care TBH. I think that it is all really based on personal opinion. I like consistency, but I don't think that this is something that can be made consistent. —Suzukaze-c 08:02, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
