Rfv-sense hentai. —Suzukaze-c 01:51, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The closest related sense I'm aware of is currently sense line 3 (which needs a little reworking): perversion, sexual deviance. The English sense of hentai as a genre of manga and anime focused on sexual themes comes directly from this sense of the Japanese term. I'm not aware of the Japanese term being used as a noun referring specifically to this genre in the same way that the English term does.
Shinji, do you have any insight? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 17:32, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
変態 is not “hentai” but “perversion”. The manga category is typically referred to as エロマンガ. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 22:03, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

変態以下[edit]

@Fumiko Take Should this be "worse (lower) than a pervert"? cf. 「あいつは人間以下だ」Suzukaze-c 16:55, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
