Cantonese pronunciation

[edit]

According to CC-Canto,

  1. 滴答 = dik1 daap3 (= dīdā)
  2. 滴答聲 = dik6 daap3 seng1
  3. 嘀嗒 = dik6 daap1

However, Xianhan treats 滴答 and 嘀嗒 as full equivalents (in all pronunciation and all senses). What should be done?

Perhaps we should leave out the Cantonese for now. There's no guarantee that CC-Canto (or Wiktionary!) is correct. —Suzukaze-c 04:04, 17 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Dine2016, Suzukaze-c: 滴答 (dīdā) should probably be the main entry. As Suzukaze-c has mentioned, CC-Canto may not be reliable for the pronunciations given here (I would probably pronounce it as dik1 daap1 either way, but I'm not sure how other people would pronounce them). We can probably have 嘀嗒 be an alt-form entry (rather than a totally collapsed zh-see entry). — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 04:58, 17 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
