Middle and Old Chinese[edit]

@Wyang Could you check the Middle and Old Chinese readings? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 23:33, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I checked them against 《康熙字典》 and expanded on the etymology. Wyang (talk) 00:38, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Wyang Thanks for your help! This version of the Kangxi Dictionary includes pinyin readings. Should we include those readings (i.e. xiù and chòu)? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 00:42, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's a great resource, thanks. I'm inclined not to include those readings - I feel that they are more like "expected Mandarin reflexes" of the Middle Chinese readings. 《漢語大字典》 has a similar page to what we have for 畜, listing chu4 and xu4, with chu4 encompassing various fanqies. Yeah, that makes sense. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 01:14, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
