Two pronunciations[edit]
@Eirikr, Wyang The NHK pronunciation dictionary has two pronunciations. One is done by me, the other one is shown as two separate words (with "·" symbol between them (in katakana フンコツ·サイシン), each of them with the following pronunciations:

- As a single contiguous entry, this term apparently has pitch accent 0, at least according to Daijirin.
- For other compounds and phrases, pitch accent may not be recorded, and especially for longer phrases (like idiom entries), this gets complicated anyway in ways that go beyond what our current simple pitch-accent template can handle. In those cases, my thought is that we should probably still use

- I have probably haven't explained well. Just to clarify, NHK gives two ways of pronouncing this term - graphically and with audio recordings. One is supplied (pitch accent 0 or heiban). The other one I don't know how to add and it's probably impossible with the current code. I'm sure this pronunciation is applicable to this term as a single term as well. I suspect the NHK dictionary has other terms with similar pronunciations (that's the first I've seen) - with separate pitch tones for its parts. "粉骨砕身" is not really broken in two 粉骨 + 砕身 but it is, for pronunciation purposes. Yeah, for such cases we have to use

- 拼死拼活 (pīnsǐpīnhuó), 不遺餘力／不遗余力 (bùyíyúlì), 鞠躬盡瘁／鞠躬尽瘁 (jūgōngjìncuì) and many others or simply 努力 (nǔlì). Pleco dictionary has a bunch, found these just by the keyword "utmost". --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 10:46, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
