Glyph origin[edit]

@Johnny Shiz, are you using Chinese Etymology? AFAIK, it's not very reliable for glyph origins. The Multi-function Chinese Character Database and Chinese Linguipedia both say that 匕 is a change from a cane in the oracle bone script. The latter additionally says that 匕 (or 𠤎) is the ancient form of 化 (change). @Wyang, suzukaze-c, any thoughts? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 05:27, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

Thanks. I promise not to use this website anymore for etymologies. Can I still list it as an alternative etymology please? Johnny Shiz (talk) 18:41, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to say no. That site is great for script images, but its explanations may still need some work. Wyang (talk) 22:03, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Template[edit]

@Wyang, Justinrleung This page currently uses auto-hiding zh-x. But it will generate a "quotations ▼" even for non-quotation zh-x. Is there anything we can do? Dokurrat (talk) 03:41, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Change the "quotations" to "examples". Wyang (talk) 03:42, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
