At first, I glossed this as (deprecated template usage) jocular + (deprecated template usage) -stan ("a fictitious Central Asian former SSR intended to cause laughter"). I had to go to the entry to convince myself that it is just a symptom of academics getting bored with perennially saying "Oedipal". —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 04:49, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

lol! Curiously enough, I can find one usage of "jokestan", plus a website by that name; "laughistan" is a website, too. - -sche (discuss) 05:07, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I once vacationed in Kalashnikovistan, but after I stole their nuclear secrets and fomented the Off-white Revolution, they made me swear never to return. (They also made me swear to assassinate Sascha B. Cohen, but I think that was just a cross-cultural misunderstanding.) —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
