Autonomous Region

[edit]

@RcAlex36, Theknightwho Because Amdo and Kham are not fully encompassed by the Tibet Autonomous Region, and because (in my view) Tibet is a sovereign state under occupation like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania between WWII and the the Soviet collapse, it is unclear to me whether "Tibet" or "Tibet Autonomous Region" is the preferred wording here. I understand arguments can be made to support various positions and wordings. However, there is an unshakeable oddness to "Tibet, China" that is not present when I see "Tibet Autonomous Region, China". Words like Dingri are colonial terms akin to Taihoku. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 23:37, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
