I cannot attest this. Maybe I just do not know how to search for it? I find a lot capitalized "Abassi" at google books:"abassi". --Dan Polansky (talk) 20:37, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's uncommon. ("an abassi" gets 36 b.g.c. hits, not all relevant; "an abbasi" gets 69, not all relevant.) It also seems to be obsolete. I think it can just barely be cited, though. I've added two citations to the entry. - -sche (discuss) 21:24, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cited, IMO. Looking at Google Books, I would say abbasi should be tagged as {{historical}} and this should be tagged as {{obsolete}}. - -sche (discuss) 21:52, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
