Sole sense: "A demographic grouping based on age."
What makes most of these groupings specifically "demographic"? In "Johnny plays well with those in his age group.", is that age group "demographic"? Does anyone few this usage as different in 'feel' than the usex? Ie, is it any more or less idiomatic? The meanings of the component words in this pairing select and combine fairly predictably it seems to me. In academic and policy writings the "demographic" sense prevails. In other settings other meanings prevail. DCDuring TALK 12:43, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
If we were or had a dictionary of common phrases, aka a phrasebook, this would be a good candidate. Oh, would that we were! DCDuring TALK 12:46, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Keep. It is not a group of ages but a group of people of a certain age. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 00:48, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
