Doesn't look like a phrasal verb to me. --SimonP45 (talk) 11:09, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Delete. Is this common in the UK? Might be worth noting the alternation of of and for at the appropriate definition at [[allow]]. DCDuring TALK 11:42, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Delete this and allow for, but add a usage note to allow per DCD. Compare "it permits of only one interpretation". Even "enables of" may be attested ("limited space enables of only some of the most important features being considered"). Is this a British thing, or a formal thing, or a formal British thing? This thread says Oxford considers it formal. - -sche (discuss) 17:08, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
