RFV of the Adjective sense "Influenced pervasively but subtly." This had the usex "My opinions are colored by my upbringing." but, as an HTML comment remarked, that is color#Verb and not an adjective. Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com say an adjective meaning ~"biased" does exist, but their only usex is "colored opinions" and I can't find cites of that phrase where colored is adjective, e.g. google books:"his colored opinions" returns nothing. Cites like "[something] colored opinions of [something else]" are the verb again. - -sche (discuss) 00:43, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- I can find "too colored" [1] [2]. However, the presence of "by" in most (but not all) of these makes the part of speech seem more like a participle.
- These hits for "very colored" seem potentially more convincing: [3], [4], [5], [6]. 98.170.164.88 01:02, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- It seems quite borderline, "very coloured by ..." also sounds fine to me and there are plenty of GBooks hits for it. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 22:52, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- I agree it's not entirely clear. What adjective tests (such as those on WT:English adjectives) would be more persuasive?
- Btw, here's comparative use with "more": [7], [8]. 98.170.164.88 00:46, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

- The cites that have now been added look good. I just couldn't find cites that weren't either "colored by" or "[actor] colored [object]". - -sche (discuss) 01:15, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Passed, I guess... - -sche (discuss) 11:05, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
