A few more cites: [1], [2], [3], [4]. The term is more readily found in the form écouvillon betraying its origin, and in the earliest use I saw it is put both in italics and in scare quotes, being the name assigned by a French doctor.[5]  --Lambiam 13:54, 12 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
