Where did all the citations go?[edit]

I thought we had a bunch of citations for ickle showing its use as a children's word (but more commonly used by adults talking to children) but I dont see them anywhere. Anyway Im pretty sure this is a UK-centric term, or at least non-US. I have never heard it even once in my entire life here in America, neither said by children nor by adults talking to children. We are more likely to use widdle or ittle or something else with the same middle consonant. Soap 21:14, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Found them at Wikipedia back in 2012. We just decided to get rid of them. These are good cites, though, definitely. A bit old, but Im sure the word is still in use. Soap 20:34, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, still in use. I would hazard that "ickle" suggests cuteness while "widdle" might sometimes be mocking. Equinox 20:55, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
