citations[edit]

  • Washington Post very detailed dscription and definition
  • Video Game History Foundation 1-hour podcast just talking about Kaizo Mario. Potentially a very good resource, but I didnt play the podcast and so can't tell if they go on to talk about the wider generic use of the term kaizo or if it is just about the original.
  • Electronic Gaming Monthly single brief mention

Apologies for not adding these as proper citations, but I have a hard time with the UI. Soap 17:36, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Video game stuff? Equinox 10:52, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

This should be easy to find cites for. Washington Post has it here, for example, and the author explains exactly what it means. I put a couple more on the talk page at talk:kaizo. I apologize for not adding the citations with the proper formatting, but i have a hard time with the UI.Soap 17:38, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Cited. J3133 (talk) 10:02, 18 June 2022 (UTC) Citations provided that need to be moved to senses. J3133 (talk) 15:15, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: Thank you. There are two senses: could you please put the cites under the appropriate sense, because we need to have all senses cited before closing this. I do appreciate your work. Equinox 02:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I did not put them under senses because I am not familiar with Mario or kaizo. J3133 (talk) 07:44, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: In that case you weren't really citing any of the challenged senses, were you? "It is a word" isn't enough to pass RFV: you also have to demonstrate that it has the given meaning. Equinox 14:57, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I provided the cites—now, someone needs to move them to senses. (I have struck “Cited.”) J3133 (talk) 15:11, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Could we just merge the two senses into one?The distinction between unfair and prank seems so fine that I'd think even avid video gamers wouldnt distinguish them, and any game can easily have both. If we dont merge, maybe the word unfair should be moved to definition 1, making them easier to tell apart. Soap 21:12, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I could and have done so, so cited. Fay Freak (talk) 22:45, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
