"(obsolete) Turned upward; bent.". The quotation in Webster is to a work in Middle English. The results I'm finding on Google Books are clearly using kirked in some other way, probably borrowed from Scots kirkit: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. 24.137.99.97 01:27, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Another case of W1913 (sorry, might have been me) sometimes (i) re-spelling words and (ii) mixing up OE and ME with Modern English. It could probably be deleted without controversy, but please keep any usable info, like the corrected citation at the correct page title. Equinox 01:30, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
