I found one cite that predates Joyce, so with Ulysses, that's two. Also, I found three cites for the grammar sense. We could lump them all together and call this a rare alt form of pluperfect, since pluperfect can also mean more than perfect. Kiwima (talk) 04:49, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
