Needs generic usage independent of reference to the universe. Not likely here. Equinox 21:04, 3 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I found one science-fiction book clearly independent of the original universe that uses the word, possibly as a tribute to Blish, but there's no way to pin down the meaning. If we do manage to find three cites, we may have to give up the precise definition we have now. It occurs to me that one-author coinages like this might be impossible to verify since authors don't normally copy other authors' ideas exactly ... if it's a tribute, it's usually a somewhat different spin on an existing idea. Nonetheless here is the book I found: The Lani People. Soap 22:01, 3 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
The Lani People is also quoted in the term's HDSF entry. I've added it to the citations page along with a few other cites that do not directly mention Blish or his works. The word also seems to have a model car sense dating back to the 1940s. Einstein2 (talk) 22:49, 3 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

RFV-passed. Incidentally I've come across this word in SF contexts before and didn't know where it came from until now, so I'd say there's a solid reason to have an entry. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 11:32, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
