From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Hebrew תֵּל אָבִיב (tel 'avív), from the title of Nahum Sokolow's translation of Theodor Herzl's Altneuland (The Old New Land). From תֵּל (tél, hill formed by ancient ruins), symbolizing the Old, and אָבִיב ('avív, Spring), symbolizing the New.
