Samogitian

{{bat-smg}} and {{sgs}} are currently both called "Samogitian", which breaks things. I'm not sure they should be merged, though: it's possible that while {{sgs}} represents the Samogitian lect of modern Lithuania, {{bat-smg}} is intended to represent a different, historical lect. If that is the case, how can we distinguish the two? Rename one "Zemaitian"? (It may be necessary to change Template:langrev/Samogitian.) - -sche (discuss) 21:45, 18 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

They should be merged. {{bat-smg}} was created in 2007, while the ISO 639-3 code "sgs" was not assigned until 2010, so {{bat-smg}} is just a leftover from the days before Samogitian had a real code. No differentiation between two varieties of Samogitian was ever intended. Note that Samogitian Wikipedia still uses the old "bat-smg" pseudo-code. —Angr 22:02, 18 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I strongly agree with Angr. Mglovesfun (talk) 08:46, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, would someone with a bot please change all instances of "bat-smg" (it probably only appears in templates, viz. {{head}}, {{infl}}, {{l}}, {{t}}, {{term}} and {{etyl}}) to "sgs"? - -sche (discuss) 00:35, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
bat-smg has now been deleted. - -sche (discuss) 22:10, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
