The names "Northern Costanoan" and "Southern Costanoan" (rather than "Northern Ohlone", "Southern Ohlone") seem more common for the individual languages, but the family seems to be more commonly called "Ohlone", so I don't know if the languages should be renamed or not. But I'm listing this info here for discussion. - -sche (discuss) 04:50, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer the names as they are, as 'Ohlone'. My experience has been that the few people I have known who knew any of an Ohlone language rarely if ever said "Costanoan", and that "Costanoan" tends to be from older ethnographic studies. --Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:20, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
