• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.

• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.

do not pass go, do not collect $200

Hi. First of all, it's better to discuss Wiktionary-related things on talk pages, rather than by email. That way others can see the discussion and join in. Only use email if for whatever reason you need to discuss private information. This is the email you sent me:

Regarding "do not pass go": I wasn't looking it up online, I got the phrase from the Hebrew translation of a book called City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. All the translations I've contributed (or plan to contribute) are based on at least one printed source (or ebook from a reputable publisher).

Also, since this is a phrase from Monopoly, I can upload a photo of the Hebrew Monopoly card it appears on, if you'd like.

Given all this, I'd like to add the translation back to the entry.

So I wasn't actually accusing you of looking things up online or not but it's hard to say that a phrase is in use if you can't even find any examples of it online. The translation on the actual Monopoly card is irrelevant, because this entry is about the idiom derived from the Monopoly card and not about the transparently literal phrase on the Monopoly card itself. As explained at WT:CFI, our criteria for inclusion require three citations (from ), so the fact that you found one is not enough. Feel free to add the quotation you found to Citations:אל תעבור בדרך צלחה, אל תקבל מאתיים, but don't create the entry or add it as a translation unless you are confident that three citations can be found. --WikiTiki89 15:38, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
