Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contribution so far. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
- Entry layout explained (ELE) is a detailed policy documenting how Wiktionary pages should be formatted. All entries should conform to this standard, the easiest way to do this is to copy exactly an existing page for a similar word.
- Our Criteria for inclusion (CFI) define exactly which words Wiktionary is interested in including. There is also a list of things that Wiktionary is not for a higher level overview.
- The FAQ aims to answer most of your remaining questions, and there are several help pages that you can browse for more information.
- We have discussion rooms in which you can ask any question about Wiktionary or its entries, a glossary of our technical jargon, and some hints for dealing with the more common communication issues.

Estonian verbs
[edit]Do you think that you could create some kind of form-of entry if you move a verb to the correct infinitive, as on the page hukata, instead of simply leaving a redirect? Nadando 01:08, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, this is my first edit in Wiktionary, I don't quite understand what you mean by "form-of entry". Can you explain? I haven't yet read the guidelines, I have to admit. Eallik 01:13, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- No problem- I just mean an entry stating that this is a form of a verb (not the main form). hukata would be a form-of entry in Estonian, like reinnestano is in Italian or soplaste is in Spanish. I edited kerjata to give you an idea. Nadando 01:18, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I see now. So both the -da and -ma infinitive entries for each verb should be kept? I just renamed them because they were being pointed to from the estonian verbs category page and that category page should only contain the -ma infinitive which is the primary one. keeda / keema
[edit]It's not at all unusual for words to exist in multiple languages. If the entry at keeda should instead be at keema, the proper procedure would be to add the entry to the entry for keema, and submit a Request For Deletion (RFD) for keeda by adding {{rfd|<explanation of why the entry should be deleted>}} the top of the entry. — Carolina wren discussió 01:27, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
inflection lines
[edit]By the way, you may wish to make use of the inflection templates for Estonian located at Category:Estonian inflection templates. Alternatively, {{infl}} is a general purpose inflection line template that can be used. For example {{infl|et|verb}} would give the word in bold for the inflection line and add it to the category for Estonian verbs. Use of the templates is optional, but it does help get the formatting correct, and add the correct categories. — Carolina wren discussió 01:46, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
