I owe you my most heartfelt apology for accusing you of using an edit summary of "undo" where you did not in fact input an edit summary at all.
I'm still reverting your edit as I haven't been able to find any proof the pronunciation /ki:v/ has ever been used before mid-to-late February 2022. It genuinely appears to me that it was created out of whole cloth by an American academic in the past few weeks and adopted by mainstream American journalists for political reasons. As a student of the Ukranian tongue, this is not what I have been taught to pronounce and it genuinely seems to be confusing most Americans, in my personal experience even those with a Ukranian background. I've been researching this apparent neologism for days now. If you have any clips or citations from before this current crisis, I would be happy to add citations and restore the edit.

Hi. It's possible to write {{mostly in the plural}}. I don't think this move was necessarily the best idea. If it can be used in the singular, it should be there. People say "gloves" more than "glove", but... Equinox ◑ 21:39, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

You said that many Australians pronounce scenario like Mario, but even the pronunciation of Mario is far from consistent everywhere in the English speaking world.
For example, in New York City and in some parts of New Jersey, Mario (even for "Super Mario") is famously pronounced /ˈmæɹioʊ/, even though the pronunciation /ˈmɑɹioʊ/ dominates elsewhere in America.
On that note, it would be helpful if a transcription of Mario in Australian English were included in our entry for Mario. Tharthan (talk) 01:34, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
