Luxembourgish

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old High German weg, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Germanic *wegaz. The expected Luxembourgish form is *Wech, cf. ewech (away). The form Wee is generalized from the plural and the dative singular; the modern plural Weeër is secondary. Cognate with German Weg, English way, Dutch weg, Danish vej, West Frisian wei.
