Etymology[edit]

yellow (a colour like that of copper) +‎ knife (a tool prominently made, used, owned, and traded, by the T'satsąot'ınę). From Dogrib T'satsąot'ınę. Named after the Tsatsaotine (Copper People) (the Yellowknives), a local Dene tribe that made copper tools.
