Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish باش آشاغی (baş aşağı),[1][2] from باش (baş) + آشاغی (aşağı),[3][4] equivalent to baş (“head”) + aşağı (“down, downwards”), literally “head downwards”.
