Latin choriambus, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek.

choriambus (plural choriambuses or choriambi)

  1. (poetry) A metrical foot consisting of four syllables, of which the first and last are long, and the others short; a choreus, or trochee, united with an iambus.
