French

Etymology

Borrowed from Latin colligō.

Verb

colliger

  1. To collate
  2. To compile

Conjugation

This is a regular -er verb, but the stem is written collige- before endings that begin with -a- or -o- (to indicate that the -g- is a "soft" /ʒ/ and not a "hard" /ɡ/). This spelling-change occurs in all verbs in -ger, such as neiger and manger.

Interlingua

Verb

colliger

  1. to gather (also figural)
  2. to collect (some items for a collection)

Conjugation

Latin

Verb

(deprecated template usage) colliger

  1. first-person singular present passive subjunctive of colligō
