From daya- +‎ -n. Cognate with Turkish dayanmak (to withstand, rest, lean, tolerate), Turkmen daýanmak (to rest), Crimean Tatar tayanmaq (to lean) and Crimean Tatar dayanmaq (to tolerate, bear), etc.
