Imitative of the sound made by the animal when alarmed.

dik-dik (plural dik-diks)

  1. A small antelope of the genus Madoqua, native to southern and eastern Africa having an elongated snout, a brown or grey/gray coat with a white belly, and an upright tuft on the crown.
