[edit]From Proto-Albanian *dūnda, cognate to Old Norse duna (“thunderous noise”), Ancient Greek θύνω (thúnō, “to rush, to dart along”), Sanskrit ध्वनति (dhvánati, “to sound”). Possibly related to tund or onomatopoeic.
