From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *dūnda, cognate to Old Norse duna (thunderous noise), Greek θύνω (thýno, to rush, to dart along), Sanskrit ध्वनति (dhvánati, to sound). Possibly related to tund or onomatopoeia.
