[edit]endoactive (not comparable)
- (grammar) Being or relating to a kind of verb where an action operates in or on the subject, similar to the middle voice.
- 2007, Axel Schuessler, ABC Etymological Dictionary of Old Chinese, Honolulu: University of Hawai'i Press, →ISBN, page 39:
- ‘Endoactive’ is similar to the 'middle voice' in some IE languages: the action was conceived as operating in or on the subject; in the exoactive, the verbal action was directed outward from the subject (R.L. Palmer, The Latin Language, 1987: 262).
