[edit]From Proto-Albanian *awa-luga, possibly continuing Proto-Indo-European *lewg- (“to break”) or *lewgʰ- (“to lie”). Compare Gothic 𐌻𐌹𐌿𐌲𐌰𐌽 (liugan) and Old Church Slavonic лъгати (lŭgati).[1]
