From Proto-Albanian *awa-luga, possibly continuing Proto-Indo-European *lewg- ‎(to break) or *lewgʰ- ‎(to lie). Compare Gothic 𐌻𐌹𐌿𐌲𐌰𐌽 ‎(liugan) and Old Church Slavonic лъгати ‎(lŭgati)[1].
