Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Pronunciation spelling of fritids, caused by a presumed analogy with dagis, from a clipping of fritidshem. The presumed analogy comes from the misinterpretation that fritis has the -is suffix which is doesn't. One can however see it as it now in fact does have the suffix since the original spelling has become the unrecommended form by SAOL.
