[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish كوممك (gömmek, “to bury”), from Proto-Common Turkic *köm- (“to bury”). Cognate with Azerbaijani gömmək, Kazakh көму (kömu), Kyrgyz көмүү (kömüü), etc.
